Why Your Businesss Should Be Marketing to Christian Consumers

There are lots of good reasons to advertise specifically to Christian consumers, some of which you may not have realized. With $2.1 trillion dollars in household income and evangelical motivation underlying their spending, the U.S. Christian consumer market is a force to be reckoned with.

This growing group of 69.5 million plus Americans have market impact both as individuals and as word-of-mouth conduits, with over half belonging to local churches, and those attendees being centered in the middle class. Furthermore, evangelical Christians, because of their obligatory devotion to non-secular lifstyles, find their loyalty translating into the way they spend their money and with whom. They have biblical perspectives that strengthen their group loyalty, which includes seeking and patronizing businesses who respect and even exemplify Christian values, especially Christian-owned businesses.

West Michigan advertisers in particular benefit from growing numbers of conservatives upholding Christian beliefs and joining churches, where consumers are most easily and effectively reached by Christian publishers. With religion becoming more important in politics and 2008 being a Presidential year, religious zeal is on the rise, and the opportunities for West Michigan businesses to effectively market to Christian consumers is greater now than ever.
